(More customer reviews)I was the person who didn't want to spend too much on a fisheye lens for my Canon 7D since I will be using it for skate footage and didn't want it to get busted.
The lens hood is plastic and very cheap feeling, body feels a little better but still overall you can feel why this lens is so cheap. The fisheye effect it gives is great but the glass isn't very amazing. I noticed a lot of "ghosting" on my images and feel like theres no focus distance which gets rid of it. It is especially noticeable in sunset / dusk lighting.
I mostly use this lens for filming skateboarding. I could not imagine using it to shoot photos since the sharpness is just not there.
The aperture ring on this lens is manual, which is another reason why this lens is so cheap. Since you're shooting digital its not that big of a deal because you can do a test shoot real quick.
For those who don't know this is the same lens as other 8mm brands such as Optika, Vivitar 7mm, Samyang. I am not sure how the other branded versions of this lens act, but I would assume the same.
Overall the pro's are obviously price. Con's are you get what you pay for. But for ~$300 I think this is a pretty good lens. I would recommend it to beginners who are dying to get a fisheye. If you're seriously going to get a fisheye for professional use or want to be legit, get something better.
