After receiving this, I tested it out a few times, so now I have about 8 hours into it, and my verdict is that I love it, it's everything I hoped it would be.
The initial set-up didn't take too long, balancing it was about a 5-minute job, and re-balancing it after I got it out in the field, (my doing, not it's) and things progressively got a lot better in my shots.
I really suck when it comes to birds in flight,(BIF) but this has gotten me my first 'save', but I can sure see how it'll help me out, but honestly, I don't live in an area where I get to practice it.
Even shots that aren't BIF, it's WAY better than my tripod, it's so easy to maneuver it, no sticking, no knobs to deal with, or any of the tripod things that can hamper shots.
This is one nice fluid head that is on it, I've never used a really good tripod, but I am more than happy with this choice, hopefully it continues, I'm not really worried, but it's in my mind, at least until a few months have gone by and I really know what it'll be like.
By appearances though, that shouldn't be a problem, but appearances can also sometimes be deceiving...

The finish on this is pretty good, there was (and is) a place on the top part next to the knob that looks like someone beat it with a chisel, the powder-coated it, but that doesn't affect how I look at it, but I'm sure that some, or most wouldn't care for that.
Aside from that, it's very smooth in it's actions, and so far, no trouble at all, the most I think I can expect as far as trouble would be the knobs not being able to be tightened as well as it did out of the box.
No problems with that though, but I had read other reviews where that happened, but it was NOT this unit, I believe it was the one that is from India bought on e-Bay, but I can't really remember, read so many reviews on it.

So, really, panning and all motions seem really good on my 100-400mm L and XSi camera, although I did have to back the Quick Release Plate 'almost' halfway to the back end to balance it, but that is still very sturdy, and I'm not worried.

I love it, and for the price, I'd definitely say give this a try, I saved quite a bit from the big name brands, and without having used one of them, I can't really compare, but I am happy, and that's a good thing.

I'd rate this high right now, and I did too... :)
